JOUR 499
Artificial Intelligence of Digital Media & Storytelling
FINAL PROJECT: GENERATIONS OF MUSIC VIDEOS
For our JOUR-499 final project, my group and I explored influential music videos from the past four decades and their impact on visual storytelling in popular culture. We recreated these videos using generative AI tools including ChatGPT for scripting and ideation, Suno for AI-generated music, Midjourney for visual direction, and Milanote for organizing a creative moodboard. I focused on "Thriller" and recreated a snippet of the music video. Our project explored how AI can reinterpret classic visuals and highlight the evolving relationship between music, media, and culture. We also examined how these tools push creative boundaries in today’s digital landscape.

LEADING A CLASS: AI OF MUSIC VIDEOS
My group and I led a one-hour class session on generative AI and creative production for short-form music videos. We presented the pros and cons of using AI in music video creation and gave a live walkthrough of three tools: Suno AI, Adobe Firefly, and Runway AI. We followed with a hands-on workshop where students used a provided verse to create their own AI-generated music videos. This experience allowed us to teach core concepts in emerging AI while fostering collaborative, creative learning.
